Name: Freeze Tag

Type: Birthday / Active
Description: The game is like tag, where one person is it and has to tag the others. They are then frozen and remain that way (with arms out and legs spread)until they are tagged by others who are not frozen. To be taggeded the unfrozen player has to crawl through their legs. As soon as everyone is caught the game is over.
Objective: Have fun and Run
Leadership:
Safety: Any obstructions in the play surface or area, and hitting each other between the legs
Problems: The same person may be it for a long time

Name: Musical Chairs
Number of people: 10-20
Age: 8+
Equipment: Chairs
Type: Active
Description: Chairs are lined up back to back. Leader plays music and the people walk around the chairs. When the music stops everyone must try and get to a chair before other players and sit down. There will be one person who will not get a chair and they are out. Remove one chair and continue the game.
Objective: Get moving and have fun
Leadership: Make sure the kids don't push and shove or sit on each other
Safety: Some kids may trip and fall or be pushed. Play this in a relatively soft and safe area.
Problems: It gets boring fast, so keep it quick moving

Name: Balloon Stomp
Number of people: 20+
Age: 8+
Equipment: One balloon and a piece of string
Type: Active

Description: Create two equal teams with your participants. Each team will be a different color of balloon and every participant needs a balloon. Everyone ties the balloon around their ankle (right or left) with a string. Both teams have to try and stomp as many of the opposing teams balloon's as possible. The team with the most balloons left in the end, wins the game
Objective: To have fun and establish team work
Leadership: This can be a wonderful game to play indoors as long as it is in a wide enough area and away from danger (well played outside, water can be added to the balloons).
Safety: Careful when playing with younger children, that they do not put the balloon in their mouths.
Problems: Don't stomp on someone else's foot

Name: Bubble Gum Relay
Number of people: 6+
Age: 5+
Equipment: Some dress up clothes, bubble bum
Type: Active relay
Description: Divide group into at least 2 groups, try to make even teams. Have them line up behind a pile of dress up clothes. Each person must put on one or several articles of clothing, do the crab walk to the end. They then receive a piece of chewing bum which they must chew and blow a bubble with before they can head back to their teams. Have the participants remain in their funny clothes - it makes a great opportunity for a funny picture at the end.
Objective: To have fun, and act silly
Leadership: Try different relay situations, be creative...there are many options.
Safety: Make sure no one has allergies to gum
Problems: not every one will want to act silly

Name: Wheel-barrow race
Number of people: 10+
Age: 12+
Equipment: Cones
Type: Active relay
Description: One team competes against the other to finish the race first. The participants are paired so that one's is standing on his hands with his legs held by the other. When the race is on, the pair must navigate the course to the end. Here the roles are reversed and the pair must return to their team. The other pair only goes after the first one has returned. The first team to have all of its participants back wins.
Objective: get the teams working together and pumped
Leadership: You can add more obstacles in the race with different activities. This heightens the level of difficulty and the duration. You can also have more than 2 teams.
Safety: The person carrying the legs should not be pushing on the "hand-walker" to go faster. Serious injuries can happen from someone face planting in the ground. Also make sure the ground is clear of debris (glass, pebbles,...). Hands are more sensitive than feet.
Problems: Make the course crazy with various activities
